Consultation
The planning of Locking Parklands is being carried out using the innovative Enquiry by Design (or EbD) approach, which encourages communities to become an integral part of the planning process.
The first EbD event was held in November 2006, bringing together local people and a range of experts in transport, ecology, drainage, urban design and landscape to sketch an initial masterplan.
Carried out in this way, the process is quicker, communication is more effective and, ultimately, a better design can be reached.
A developer partner for Locking Parklands will soon be appointed, who will work with local people to refine the masterplan and build out the final scheme. Further EbD events will be held and a testing process carried out.
