Everyone who lives at Locking Parklands will enjoy a greener lifestyle, thanks to parkland surroundings and excellent public transport links.

All of the homes reach the Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4, meaning they are 44% more energy efficient than current minimum Building Regulations require. This is achieved by features such as energy efficient appliances, solar panels for heating and high levels of insulation. For householders this means a significant reduction in energy bills, lower CO2 emissions, and a warmer more comfortable home.

Locking Parklands is set in a large area of open parkland containing play areas and wildlife habitats. In the first phase there two shallow ponds, edged with grass, an attractive visual feature and a haven for flora and fauna. There is also a 'dark corridor' over the ponds, which will provide the low levels of light that native bats need to forage for insects.

Living sustainably also means not having to travel too far to reach essential amenities. Locking Parklands' planned school, library, leisure and community facilities will all be within walking distance. The nearest station, Weston Milton, is less than 2½ miles away and there is good road access to the M5 and A371, as well as Weston super Mare town centre.
